Day 1: Breaking Spiritual Limitations

How is your relationship with God? Do you connect with Him daily, or do you only call on Him when times are hard? Do you seek Him on sunny days, or do you wait until the storms rage before turning to Him?

The truth is, staying in constant touch with God is the only sure way to break any spiritual limitations in your life. When times are good, praise Him and give thanks. Immerse yourself in His Word and walk in His ways. And when storms come, call on Him with faith, knowing that He will keep you safe.

Establishing a strong relationship with God creates a shield of protection around your life. When you are close to God, the enemy may try to attack, but they cannot overcome His power.

Remember the story of the man possessed by a legion of demons: when they saw him near Jesus, they trembled and begged to be left alone (Luke 8:26-39). This shows that no force or power can stand against the presence of God.

As you begin this fast, focus today on breaking not just financial barriers but also any spiritual limitations that may be holding you back in life. Recognize that some financial struggles aren’t purely physical, they may have spiritual roots.

At times, unseen forces work against your well-being, creating setbacks and unexpected challenges that you can not explain. Sometimes things happen out of the blue and feel out of the ordinary. You might find yourself giving your best effort, doing all the right things, yet facing constant roadblocks as things just seem to get worse and worse. These aren’t mere coincidences. They are spiritual barriers that require spiritual solutions.

Do not take these things lightly. Instead, let today’s fast be a time to focus deeply on prayer and God’s Word. Trust that what lies beyond your current challenges is more glorious than anything you’re experiencing now, and know that God’s plans for you are filled with abundance and peace. Do not lose heart; stay strong in faith and resolve to break every spiritual barrier.

As you pray, declare freedom over any evil influences holding you back. Call on God’s power to release you into financial breakthroughs and blessings. Remember: with God, all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Psalm 73:26
My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

To begin your 7-day fast, it’s important to pray for strength. As humans, denying ourselves food can be incredibly challenging, but with the strength of the Lord, you can persevere through this fast.

God provides strength and peace, and His grace is always sufficient for you. Pray for the Lord’s strength to carry you through each day of the fast. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, quenching your thirst and hunger. Finally, pray for the strength to resist any temptations that may arise during this period.

Prayer

Dear God,  
I thank You for the gift of life today. As I begin this 7-day fast, I ask for Your strength to guide and sustain me. Please help me to complete these seven days without faltering. I pray against anything that may distract me or cause me to lose focus. Let nothing work against the purpose of this fast.  

Father, I ask that Your Holy Spirit descend upon me, filling me with strength and peace. Quench my thirst and hunger with Your presence. Instead of craving food and water, let my heart yearn for Your Word. Let Your grace uphold me and carry me through this journey.

Prayer to break financial limitations

Dear Lord,

Today, I declare Your powerful Word over my finances. I stand firm in Your promise that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. In Your name, I break every spiritual limitation over my financial life, and I cast out any spirit of poverty that tries to hold me back.
I come against any spirit of regression or setback hanging over my finances, and I release divine appointments that will lead to my financial growth and fruitfulness. I speak abundance and blessings over my finances, and I ask that Your Spirit be poured out over every financial seed I sow. Let my financial tree grow strong and thrive in Jesus' name.
Lord, I plug any holes in my finances and destroy every spirit of loss and reduction. I declare success, prosperity, and abundance over my life, trusting fully in Your provision and guidance.
