Some Christians ask many questions about financial stability. This verse talks about some of them. If God knows what we need, then why does He allow us to be poor? It is true that even the birds in the sky and the animals who do not reason or speak are taken care of but why do we humans face poverty when God knows that we need money to be able to survive?

Well, think of God as a loving father who has a lot of treasure in store for His children. Imagine a king who rules a kingdom and has told his children to ask him for whatever they need and they will receive it. He says this because even though he knows his children need these things, he tells them to ask him because that demonstrates faith and love when they do. They show him that they believe in him as their father and know that He can absolutely provide everything they need.

Secondly, do you know any father who is only used by his children for what they need? Are such fathers happy? No.

Fathers require the love and trust of their children all the time and not only when their kids need something from them. God expects you to love Him every day just like all fathers want their children to be in a close relationship with them. So if you have an everyday relationship with God, then you do not need to think of what you will eat or how you will survive, because He will provide you with all your needs according to his riches (Philippians 4:19). All you have to do is ask.
