Welcome back to our gratitude journey, where each day, we delve into the inspiring messages of scripture and discover the moments of God’s provision that have flooded our lives. Today, we focus on Matthew 7:7-11, a passage that unveils a profound truth about gratitude, faith, and receiving abundance from the loving hands of our Heavenly Father.

7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

The Power of Asking

One of the fundamental principles we learn from today’s scripture is the power of asking. It is a reminder that God desires an intimate relationship with us, and He urges us to approach Him confidently with our requests. Jesus assures us that when we ask according to His will, believe in His goodness, and persevere in faith, God will respond abundantly by providing for our needs.

Seeking and Finding

In addition to asking, Jesus emphasizes the importance of seeking. This entails actively pursuing our dreams, goals, and desires aligned with God’s Kingdom. By seeking, we are purposefully moving forward, engaging in personal growth, and expanding our horizons. God promises that when we seek Him and His righteousness genuinely, we will find the treasures He has prepared for us.

Knocking and the Opened Door

As we near the end of this passage, Jesus encourages us to knock on the door of divine provision. He assures us that as the door opens for those who knock, our Heavenly Father will respond lovingly and compassionately to our hearts’ desires. God does not withhold His goodness from His children, just as earthly parents instinctively give good gifts to their loved ones. There is no limit to God’s blessings, and He faithfully fulfills His promises.

The Depths of God’s Provision

Reflecting on this scripture, we find ourselves in awe of God’s infinite provision and His character as a caring Father. He knows our needs even before we ask, and He delights in providing for us. The promise of God’s provision does not guarantee a life free from challenges or hardships, but it assures us that He will be there to sustain us through them all.
