Psalm 18:25-26 – Reflect God’s goodness

Date:

Verse – Psalm 18:25-26

To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure, but to the devious you show yourself shrewd.

Thoughts

God is faithful, blameless, and pure to His children. To the devious, He shows Himself shrewd. How would God treat you if He decided to treat you the same way you treat others? How would your life turn out if God decided that you receive the same things you send out?

This text tells us that the Lord expects us to reflect His qualities on earth. The same way we expect Him to behave when we pray to Him is what we should do for others.

If we expect compassion from Him then, we must show compassion to others who need it. We must feed the hungry, help the poor, help the sick, correct the wayward and admonish the downtrodden. These qualities allow the Lord to aim these same qualities at us when we are in similar situations.

Have you ever wondered why you received that favour when you were not even expecting it? Do you remember that time when you were hungry with no food to eat and someone gave you food out of nowhere?

The Lord knows all we need and at which point we will need them. This is why He expects us to treat others the same way we want Him to treat us.

Declaration

I will treat others in the same way I want to be treated by God.

Prayer

Dear Lord,
Thank you for the message in your Word. Help me to understand it deeply and make it internalise it. Help me to live my life for you, reflecting the grace and mercy I desire from you. Let compassion flow from me to others; help me recognize and appreciate their pain. Teach me to treat others as I would hope to be treated, showing kindness and understanding. Reveal your ways to me, Lord, and fill my spirit with your direction. Let my life be a shining beacon of obedience, leading others toward your love.

Amen.
