John 1:10 meaning

How heartbreaking it is that God Himself came down to earth, yet people did not recognize or accept Him. The Bible tells us that God created everything through His Word, and it even declares that the Word is God (John 1:1). Yet when the Word came down to dwell among us, humanity refused to accept Him.

Even today, there are still people who do not accept Jesus as the Son of God or the Savior. Some even deny God as the Creator of all things (Psalm 14:1).

John 1 speaks of Christ’s origins as the Word of God. Through the Word, the world was created in perfect order. And yet, though He is the essence of nature itself, His own creation did not recognize Him. Imagine the sorrow of not being acknowledged by what you lovingly made.

Jesus encourages us to test the spirits and to seek the truth (1 John 4:1). He does not force anyone to believe in Him or accept Him. We have been given free will, which means the choice to accept Him must come from our own hearts (Revelation 3:20).

God has provided countless reasons and ways for us to know and accept Him as the Creator and Giver of life. Do not let pride blind you to the truth that is right before your eyes. Soften your heart and be open to hearing and knowing God and His Son, Jesus.

Prayer

Almighty God,

I thank You for my life and for all the beautiful creations that surround me. Thank You for providing us with everything we need to survive on this earth. Thank You for Your mercy and for not forsaking us despite our sins. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins.

Lord Jesus, I am grateful for the pain and suffering You endured for mankind’s sake. I lift up those who have yet to hear this Good News, and those who have heard but are still processing or hesitating to accept it. Please have mercy on them and open their hearts and minds. Let them see Your glory in their lives and help them to accept the truth, so they may not perish but have eternal life.

Amen.
