John 14:6 Devotional – The Way

Date:

Verse – John 14:6

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Verse – John 14:6 meaning

Devotional

“The” is a definite article, and it precedes a statement or word of certainty. When “the” is used, whatever it is describing cannot be missed, and there should be no confusion about it. Jesus calls Himself the way, meaning that if one wants to live eternally with the Father, just as was originally intended, they must go through Jesus.

Think of it like an exclusive club that only allows entry with a specific type of ticket. If you do not have that ticket, there is no way you are getting in. Some people may try to sell you fake tickets, promising they will grant you entry, but that doesn’t make them valid. The true ticket to the Father is through the Son, and no other. That ticket remains free, no matter how much others may try to make it seem costly.

The truth is absolute. There is no room for doubt when it comes to truth. It doesn’t matter whether it makes sense or not, what is true cannot be changed.

For instance, there are cases where someone has been convicted of a crime because the evidence pointed to them: their fingerprints were on the weapon, and they had a motive. But years later, the real culprit comes forward, confessing with undeniable evidence and videos. This shows that something can appear true because it makes sense, but it doesn’t make it the truth.

Jesus Christ is the truth. He is the only way to the Father, no matter how it may or may not make sense. He is the life. If you desire to live eternally with the Father, then you need Christ.
