The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ

Imagine yourself as a prince or princess in a kingdom. Your father the king has given you so much inheritance whether you like it or not. This inheritance is a birthright. It is yours to keep or to not keep.
There is however an evil one who cannot take this inheritance from you physically because it has been accorded to your name. So instead he tries to mess with your mind into thinking you are not the actual son of the king. Meaning that you are not entitled to any form of inheritance whatsover.
He does this because he knows that the day you accept that you are the actual heir to the throne of the king, all these inheritance will be free for you to take and possess.
God is the King in the scenario. He has in His infinite wisdom placed you in a position where you get to be an heir in His kingdom. That means that He has given you the right to be called a son or a daughter of His. Meaning also that you have the right to the inheritance He has left for you.
The devil, however, does not want this to happen. So what he does is to fill you with unbelief. Unbelief in your right to the inheritance. Unbelief in your place in God’s kingdom through the sacrifice of His begotten son, Jesus.
Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
1 Peter 5:8-9
The devil does this by tormenting you with things that make you feel unworthy. He also causes things to happen in your life that make you feel like you couldn’t be the son of the king. He lies to you just like he did to Eve in the garden that God has lied to you and if He was truly looking out for you then nothing bad would be happening to you.
Remember how he tormented Job because he wanted to prove to God that he only loved and followed Him because of the favors God poured on Job?
In the same way he will do whatever he can to cause you to lose hope in God or feel like He doesn’t care about you. He is not a lion but he prowls like a lion looking for who he can deceive.
The most important thing he is after is to cause you to lose your faith through the poisoning of your mind. Once your mind is poisoned, he knows you will not believe in your place in the kingdom of God and hence forfeit the inheritance meant for you.
Prayer is a medium through which we manifest the word of God in our physical lives. This is why we must pray to break all strongholds and spirits that the devil tries to use to confuse our minds and cause us to lose faith.

Warfare prayer against selfish spirit
Dear Lord,
I thank you for my life. Today, I come to you in prayer for renewal. Please remove from me the spirit of selfishness. Take away this demonic influence and set me free. I bind this spirit with the fire of Your Holy Spirit, and I trample upon it with the power of Your Word.
I declare that no longer will I be selfish. I declare that I will be generous, that I will care for others, and that I will look beyond myself. I commit to treating my neighbor as myself. I break every evil stronghold in my heart, casting the spirit of selfishness into the bottomless pit. Help me, dear God, to live a selfless life, reflecting your love and grace.

Dear Lord,
I release my mind from any demonic entanglements and cleanse it of all confusion. I stand firm in the Word of God; no devil can make me lose what is mine. I take possession of my inheritance in Jesus’ name, claiming my rightful place in Your kingdom.
I declare that I am saved through Jesus Christ, and no sin or mistake can separate me from You. No stumble will ever make me believe I am lost, for I have been found and will remain found in You.
I destroy all evil thoughts and bind every demonic lie planned against me, in Jesus’ name.

Heavenly Father,
Let pride depart from me, and let my heart be humble. Help me to repent of any wrongdoing, casting away the spirit of pride into the fiery lake. Make me as innocent as a lamb, calming my spirit in times of storm.
Let me not feel as though I know everything; grant me the wisdom to hold my peace when needed. Let my humility be pleasing in Your sight. I destroy all forces of pride, standing against every scheme of the enemy. I burn away all temptations that could damage my name, and I lay myself down as a humble servant in Your presence.

Dear Lord in Heaven,
Speak Your miracles into my body and take hold of my mind. Open my eyes to any deceit, and let me recognize when I’m being misled. Stop me in my tracks when I’m near evil, and speak Your gentle words in my ears.
Help me never to lose hope. Break any spirit of despair within me, and open my eyes to the greatness You have planned for my future. Let me rise even stronger from this heartbreak, with the strength to overcome any suicidal thoughts. Lead me through disappointments, and let me never feel alone.
Constantly remind me of Your good gifts, and let me live to fulfill my purpose.

Dear Lord,
I release my family from the spirit of poverty and cleanse all that we touch with Your abundant spirit. I destroy all spirits of hopelessness and come against every evil plot that seeks to harm us. We are favored in Jesus’ name!
Let all that we touch be multiplied in Jesus’ name, and our lives be a lives of abundance. Let all shackles of poverty be broken, and let every trap of ruin be destroyed. Expose any thieves or robbers in our lives, and let Your divine protection follow us.
Guard any investments we have made and destroy any evil spirits of regression, in Jesus’ name.

Heavenly Father,
I come against the spirit of death and destroy all devouring spirits. I trample upon every demonic influence and cancel all spirits of disease. I reject all spirits of unhappiness and drive out any spirits of cancer and heart disease. I cancel all spirits of accidents.
Please be my protector throughout my life, allowing me to jump over any traps set for me. Help me resist evil that seeks to harm me, and let those who plan to harm me face their own schemes.
I cover any grave dug for me, declaring that I will live to proclaim Your good works and fulfill Your purpose for our lives, in Jesus' name.

Dear Lord,
I come against any lustful spirit and any spirit of pornography. Destroy every force that keeps me in bondage, and burn away all spirits that hold me imprisoned. Set my mind free and liberate my body.
Let me not be a slave to lust; save me from demonic images and replace those thoughts with Your Word. Grant me the strength to control myself and banish all lustful thoughts from my life.
Save me from my own mistakes, in the name of Jesus.

Dear Father,
I destroy any adulterous spirit and come against every lustful influence. Help my heart resist evil thoughts and keep my feet far from temptation. Grant me self-control and help me remain steadfast in Your goodness.
Let no evil attract me, and help me hold my family together. Cut down any demonic plans against my marriage and banish any adulterous spirits in my workplace. Keep me anchored under Your protection, and help me focus on Your Word.
Strengthen me to resist lustful temptations and break all demonic chains of adultery.

As a child of God, there are evil spirits that are working against you every day. No matter where you are or where you go as a born-again, the devil is always trying to win you to his side. That means you are very precious.
If you weren’t precious then he wouldn’t be trying to keep you from where you want to go. You must therefore start taking possession of what is yours already. You must cause what God has said about you in the spirit to be manifest in the physical. You must battle with the evil that seeks to take this inheritance from you. It is yours.
You must put on the whole armour of God and be ready to do battle for what is rightfully yours. God has already given it to you spiritually but the devil tries his best to not make it manifest in the physical. Through prayer warfare, it will come to pass in Jesus’ name.
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
