Day 5: Become A Godly Woman Of Virtue

This entry is part 4 of 8 in the series 7 Days Fasting And Prayer For Future Husband

While fasting and praying for your future husband, it is essential to prepare yourself to become a wife worthy of the man you are praying for. This means embracing your role as a godly woman of virtue.

In Matthew 25:1-13, Jesus shares the parable of the ten virgins. As they waited for the bridegroom, five were wise and carried extra oil for their lamps, while the other five were foolish and unprepared. When the bridegroom arrived, the foolish virgins had no oil left and missed their opportunity to meet him.

In the same way, as you wait for your future husband, you must be spiritually, emotionally, and mentally prepared so that when the time comes, you are ready to step into the role God has designed for you. This season of waiting is not just about praying for a godly husband, it is about becoming a godly woman who is worthy of the man of virtue you desire.

"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies."
    Proverbs 31:10

On this fifth day of fasting, dedicate your prayers to yourself. Ask God to work through you, transforming your mind, your heart, and your innermost being. Pray for Him to mold you into a woman of wisdom, strength, kindness, and faith. Let this be a day of surrender, allowing God to refine you in preparation for the beautiful future He has planned.

    Prayers for today

Prayer for Spiritual Growth and Maturity

    14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
    Ephesians 4:14-15
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
    Matthew 5:6
But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
    2 Peter 3:18
    That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
    Colossians 1:10

Start off your prayer today by asking the Lord to help you grow spiritually and mature in your walk with Him. There is a reason the Bible urges us to seek God first because when you have God, you truly have everything. As you grow in the Lord, you not only gain wisdom for everyday life, but you also develop the spiritual strength needed for future seasons, including marriage.

Paul reminds us in 1 Corinthians 7 that the unmarried woman has the advantage of being able to fully devote herself to the Lord. This is a sacred window in your life – a time without the distractions or responsibilities that come with marriage. Use it wisely. Use it to draw closer to God, to deepen your understanding of His Word, and to be shaped into a godly woman of virtue.

Spiritual maturity is essential not just for your personal walk, but also for your future marriage. As you grow in Christ, you begin to see more clearly what aligns with His will and what does not. You begin to understand what truly matters in a partner and in a covenant relationship.

Spiritual growth helps you know how to act and react wisely in every area of life. No marriage is without its challenges, but a woman grounded in God’s truth will know how to build her home with wisdom, grace, and love. Let today mark a fresh commitment to growing into the woman God created you to be – rooted, refined, and spiritually ready.

    Prayer

    Dear God,
Thank You for my life. Thank You for preserving me through the years and for the values You have planted in me. Thank You for Your love, for Your protection, and for the grace that has sustained me.
Lord, I come before You in this season of waiting, asking for a deeper relationship with You. Help me to devote my heart fully to You, to delight in Your presence, and to hunger for Your Word. Help me grow, not only in knowledge, but in love, wisdom, and spiritual strength. Let my heart be soft toward Your leading and my spirit be teachable in Your hands.
Teach me Your ways, Lord, and help me to mature daily. Let my face radiate Your light and my life reflect Your goodness. Prepare my heart for the journey ahead. Give me grace to walk in peace and strength to walk in truth. Help me to honour my family and live a life that brings You glory. Make me a light in my home and community, and let my foundation be strong in You.
Let me grow, Lord, deeper, stronger, and closer to You every day.
    Amen.

Prayer for Emotional Healing and Wholeness

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds
    Psalm 147:3
The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
    Psalm 34:18
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
    Proverbs 17:22

Chances are you’ve been in relationships that didn’t turn out the way you had hoped. Maybe you thought they would last or even lead to marriage but they ended. Maybe they did lead to marriage, but it fell apart.

Whatever your story, one thing is certain: emotional wounds often linger long after the situation ends. These wounds, if left unhealed, can follow us into new relationships and prevent us from loving freely and fully.

Sometimes we think we’ve moved on, only to find that an unexpected moment reopens old wounds, reminding us that true healing hasn’t yet happened. That’s why, in this time of fasting and prayer, it’s important to pause and seek deep emotional healing and wholeness.

This is your sacred space with God Ask Him to go into those hidden places of pain, disappointment, betrayal, loss, and regret. Ask Him to touch your heart, your mind, and your soul. Let this be the day where you invite God to rewrite your emotional story, not just to erase the past, but to redeem it.

God doesn’t just mend broken hearts, He makes them whole. Let Him remove every emotional scar and replace it with His peace. Allow Him to prepare you for love again, with a whole heart, a sound mind, and a hopeful spirit. You were never meant to carry yesterday’s pain into tomorrow’s promise. So today, release it to Him. Let Him make you whole.

    Prayer

    Dear Lord,
Thank You for sustaining me through the years, through joy and pain, through victories and heartbreak. I bring before You every wound I carry, those I speak about and those I’ve hidden deep within.
Heal me, Lord, from past experiences that left me broken. Heal the scars that remind me of what didn’t work out. Heal me from my own mistakes, from the pain I’ve caused and the pain I’ve endured. I lay it all at Your feet.
Renew my mind. Restore my strength. Make today a new beginning for me, a fresh start filled with hope. Help me break through every barrier that’s held me back. Deliver me from emotional cycles that keep me stuck. Help me to overcome fear, insecurity, and comparison.
Let me hear Your voice more clearly than ever. Help me not to be stubborn or stuck in the past. Guide me into wholeness. Lead me to where You want me to go and prepare me for the love You have for me. Remove every trace of fear from my heart. Make me bold and courageous in spirit.
Let Your light lead me into a brighter future. Let my past strengthen me, not define me. Teach me to see the good in others. Help me not to carry suspicion or bitterness. Fill me with patience, compassion, and peace. Let confidence rise within me. Make me whole, healed from within and ready for what lies ahead.
Let my next step be the right one, and walk with me through it all.
    Amen.

Prayer for a Renewed Mind and Heart

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
    Ezekiel 36:26
That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness
    Ephesians 4:22-24
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
    1 Peter 1:13

You are your mind and your heart. Everything you believe, everything you do, and everything you allow into your life flows from the condition of your inner being. That’s why it’s so important to invite the Spirit of the Lord, not just to dwell within you, but to renew you from the inside out.

It’s one thing to be filled; it’s another to be transformed. Transformation begins in the mind and takes root in the heart. When your thoughts are aligned with God’s Word, and your heart is softened by His Spirit, everything about your life begins to shift, including how you love, how you trust, and how you walk into your future.

You may have gone through things that hardened your heart or clouded your thinking. Pain, betrayal, fear, or failure can do that. But God promises to take away the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh – a heart that beats again with hope, love, and life.

Today, ask Him to do just that. Let Him strip away every old thought pattern, every lie, every fear-based reaction, and replace them with truth, grace, and strength. Let your heart be made tender again, free from bitterness and open to love. Let your mind be made sharp, sound, and secure in Christ. A renewed mind and heart will not only heal your past but prepare you to love with depth, discernment, and joy in the future.

    Prayer

    Dear Lord,
Thank You that I’m still here, standing by Your grace after all I’ve been through. Thank You for the lessons in both joy and sorrow, and for walking with me through every valley and every victory.
Today, I surrender my mind and heart to You. I ask for renewal. I don’t want to carry old patterns into new seasons. Let my mind be transformed by Your truth and my heart softened by Your love. Remove every hardened place in me, places shaped by pain, fear, or disappointment and replace them with compassion, peace, and faith.
Let my experiences refine me, not define me. Let them prepare me for the future with wisdom, not fill me with fear. Teach me to grow, to be inspired, and to trust again. Renew my strength day by day. Renew my faith in love, in people, and most of all, in You.
Grant me a forgiving heart, Lord. I do not want to enter a new relationship carrying burdens from the old one. Let Your grace pour over me. Cleanse my thoughts, purify my desires, and sanctify every part of me - my heart, my hands, and my decisions.
Help me fight off the darkness of doubt, shame, and negativity. Strengthen me to silence every voice that speaks contrary to Your promises. Let hope arise in my spirit again. Let me walk into my next chapter with joy and expectation.
May I be the right partner, the right companion, one who enriches, supports, and loves well. Let my future be blessed and full of purpose. Keep the enemy far from me, and keep my heart grounded in You.
    Amen.

Prayer for Inner Beauty and Godly Character

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
    Proverbs 31:30
Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price
    1 Peter 3:3-4
As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion
    Proverbs 11:22

Inner beauty is one of the most misunderstood and undervalued virtues in our world today. It is often spoken of lightly, yet lived out by few. Many women have entered marriage with stunning outward beauty, but their relationships faltered because their inner life – their character, values, and spirit – was not formed or rooted in God.

There is an Akan proverb that says: Your beauty will take you places, but your character will bring you back. In other words, outward appearance might open doors, but only godly character will keep you in the rooms where destiny unfolds.

This truth is especially vital in marriage. Physical beauty might attract suitors, but it is godliness, wisdom, humility, and inner strength that sustain a lifelong partnership. Beauty may catch a man’s eye, but character wins and keeps his heart.

As you prepare for your future husband, ask God to cultivate within you the kind of beauty that does not fade, the beauty of a gentle, wise, and Christ-like spirit. Pray to be adorned with grace, kindness, patience, and emotional maturity. Ask Him to shape your words, your habits, your thoughts, and your actions so that your presence becomes a blessing to your husband, your home, and everyone around you.

Let your goal not just be to marry, but to stay married with joy, honor, and God’s presence in the center. That is the power of inner beauty and godly character.

    Prayer

    Dear Lord,
Thank You for Your love, Your grace, and Your gentle guidance that never leaves me as I am. Today, I come before You to ask for something deeper than what the world values. I pray for the kind of beauty that cannot be seen in a mirror - the beauty of the heart, the beauty of character.

Teach me the values of a godly woman and the heart of a faithful wife. Shape me to be a blessing to my future husband, not just in appearance, but in presence, words, and spirit. Let me be someone who adds value to his life spiritually, emotionally, and practically.

Prepare me for this new journey ahead. Prepare my heart to love selflessly, my mind to think wisely, and my life to walk humbly. Grant me tolerance in times of frustration, peace in times of conflict, and grace in times of challenge.

Mould my character, Lord. Make me gentle but firm, wise yet teachable, strong yet soft. Help me to be patient, kind, and thoughtful. Let me carry Your light and be a source of hope in the dark moments of life. May I be a safe place, a true friend, and a steady companion.

Let my beauty come from within, a beauty shaped by prayer, built on humility, and clothed in righteousness. Help me to be a good example to my children and a woman others can look up to, not for vanity but for virtue.

Bless my heart, Lord. Cleanse my spirit daily. Let me walk in godliness and integrity in private and in public. May Your presence never leave me. Let my life be an example of inner beauty that honors You and blesses my home.
    Amen.

    Prayer for Purity and Holiness

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
    Psalm 51:10
For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour.
    1 Thessalonians 4:3-4

In today’s world, where trends, social media, and external appearances dominate so much of our attention, the virtues of purity, holiness, and modesty can seem outdated or even irrelevant. But they are not. They are eternal qualities of a woman deeply rooted in God. These virtues protect your heart, preserve your body, and prepare your soul, not just for marriage, but for the life of purpose God has called you to live.

Purity is more than abstaining from physical sin. It’s a posture of the heart. Holiness is not perfection; it’s separation unto God. It’s choosing to live differently, not because you’re better, but because you’re called. Your life is a vessel, and God desires to fill it with light, not compromise.

As you wait on God for a future husband, let this be a time where your spirit is preserved, your heart is guarded, and your body is honored. Ask God to help you stay rooted in His Word, grounded in His truth, and led by His Spirit.

Pray that you won’t be swayed by the pressures of culture or consumed by the desires of the flesh. Instead, seek to live with conviction, modesty, and unwavering devotion, so that your life brings glory to His name.

    Prayer

    Dear Lord,
Make me pure in heart, in body, and in thought. Make me holy—not just in appearance, but in the depths of my spirit. Set me apart for You and Your purpose. Sanctify me—not just for my future husband, but for the calling You’ve placed on my life.

Keep me from the lure of darkness, from compromise, and from anything that distracts me from Your will. Let not my life be shaped by the patterns of this world, but transformed by the renewing of my mind.

Let the past stay behind me. May my former mistakes become lessons that shape me—not burdens that weigh me down. Cleanse me fully, Lord, and strengthen me so I do not return to old ways.

Shine Your light on my path and guard my heart with Your truth. Help me to walk in integrity, in modesty, and with spiritual clarity. Let purity not just be something I preserve, but something I embody in my thoughts, my desires, my words, and my actions.

Make my life a testimony to my family. Let my home one day reflect Your holiness and peace. Let me be a sign of Your grace and a light to others in a world that desperately needs it. Keep disgrace far from my door. Preserve me, Lord—for the one You have prepared for me, and more importantly, for You.

Let purity be my portion, and holiness my banner. May I grow in grace, walk in love, and be rooted in righteousness as I wait on You.

    Amen.

    Prayer for a Servant’s Heart

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
    Ephesians 5:22-24
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
    1 Timothy 2:11-12
    Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;
While they behold your chaste conversation coupled with fear.
    1 Peter 3:1-2
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another
    Romans 12:10
That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
    Titus 2:4-5
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
    Philippians 2:3-4

In today’s world, the idea of a woman serving and submitting to her husband is often mocked, misunderstood, or outright rejected. Scroll through social media and you’ll come across countless voices telling women that submission is weakness, and that serving a man diminishes your worth. These posts promote self over sacrifice, and pride over partnership but the Word of God teaches the exact opposite.

Scripture is clear: the husband is the head of the home, and wives are called to submit not out of inferiority, but as an act of obedience to God and a reflection of Christ’s humility. Submission does not mean silence or losing your identity, it means partnering with your husband in love, respect, and grace, with each person playing their role to build a peaceful and thriving home.

A woman with a servant’s heart honors God by respecting her husband not only in word but in action. She serves not from compulsion, but from a deep desire to build her home with wisdom, kindness, and humility. Pray today that the Lord will give you this kind of heart; a heart that submits not to the culture, but to the will of God.

Ask for a spirit of humility, calmness, and grace. Pray for the strength to serve your husband with love, even when it’s difficult, and the courage to resist the loud voices of the world that mock this divine order. A servant’s heart doesn’t lower your worth, it multiplies your impact.

Remember, your beauty may attract a man, but it is your godly character rooted in humility, wisdom, and service that will sustain your marriage.

Today, pray that the Lord will remove pride, self-centeredness, and every influence that stands against His divine order. Pray that you will honor your future husband, not with fear, but with love, grace, and humility. Ask the Lord to help you walk in partnership and peace, knowing that in serving one another, we glorify God.

    Dear Lord,
Thank You for my life, for all You’ve done, and for the wisdom You’ve given me through the seasons. Thank You for healing my heart and preparing me for the future.

Today, I ask You to remove every form of pride, rebellion, and stubbornness in me. Give me a quiet spirit, a listening ear, and a humble heart. Teach me to be calm, understanding, and discerning.

Give me a servant’s heart, one that mirrors Your love and gentleness. Teach me to serve my husband in love and not in fear. May I never be a burden to him, but a blessing. Let me bring peace where there’s confusion and hope where there’s despair.

Let me be a partner, not a rival. A helper, not a hindrance. Help me to embrace my role joyfully and build my home with wisdom. Help me to submit, not because I am weak, but because I trust Your perfect design.

Make me a woman of strength, grace, and patience. Let my character reflect the heart of Christ. May I be a true companion, faithful, forgiving, and full of love.

Bless me, Lord, and prepare me for the marriage You have for me. Keep me in Your will, and let my life bring glory to Your name.
    Amen

Prayer for God to Shape You into a Proverbs 31 Woman

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life...
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
    Proverbs 31:10-31

As you seek to become a godly woman of virtue, the Proverbs 31 woman stands as a divine blueprint. She is diligent, strong, wise, compassionate, and above all, God-fearing. She builds her home not just with her hands, but with her heart. Her beauty is not just in appearance, but in her strength of character, in her love, and in her deep reverence for the Lord.

Becoming a Proverbs 31 woman doesn’t happen overnight. It is a process of transformation, of daily surrender, and of allowing God to shape every part of you.

Today, pray that God will mold you into a woman of noble character, a woman who is a blessing to her husband, a source of joy to her children, and a vessel of grace and dignity in her home. Ask the Lord to equip you with strength, wisdom, and the spirit of excellence so you can walk in your calling with confidence and peace.

    Dear Lord,
Make me a virtuous woman. Shape my heart, my thoughts, and my actions to reflect Your Word. Let my life be a testimony of strength, grace, and godliness.

Make me strong, patient, and noble. Fill me with wisdom, humility, and a spirit of service. Let me bring wealth, not just material, but spiritual, emotional, and peaceful wealth, into my home.

Teach me to be a productive and compassionate partner. Help me to protect and uplift my family, to clothe them not only in garments but in grace, joy, and security.

Let my life bring pride to my partner and honor to my home and children. Let my hands be diligent, my heart be generous, and my spirit be unshakable in faith.

Help me to be the best wife, the best friend, and the best mother. Let me motivate, support, and love with wisdom and passion. Give me strength and boldness to fulfill all that You have called me to do.

Let my suffering never be in vain. May my efforts blossom into lasting fruit. Let joy and laughter never depart from my household.

Make me a woman of honour, the perfect helper, the faithful companion, the anchor in the storm. In hard times, let me be a supporter. In sad times, a comforter. In sickness, a nurturer and healer. In lack, a provider of hope and peace.

Let Your presence never leave my home. Fill our days with light, and our nights with songs of testimony.
    Amen.
