This Prayer Could Help Find Your Child

I’ve never hesitated to reshare a post about a missing child on social media. Every time I see such a post, an overwhelming wave of sadness washes over me. My heart aches for the parents, and I can’t help but think of how frightened and confused that child must feel, lost and far from the safety of their loved ones.

Often, people ask me, “Who is this child? Why are you sharing this?” My answer is always the same: I don’t need to know the child or their parents to care. Sharing could be the one action that leads to their safe return.

If everyone reshares these posts, it increases the chances that the information will reach someone who knows something, someone who can help bring that child home. You don’t have to know them to make a difference.

To every parent searching for their missing child: take heart. Don’t lose hope. Keep praying, keep searching, and trust that God sees your pain and hears your prayers. My prayer is that your child will be found and brought back to you, safe and sound. You’re not alone in this. There are so many of us hoping and praying alongside you.

The Prayer Every Parent Needs When Their Child is Missing

Almighty Lord,
I come before Your throne, trembling with fear and overwhelmed with anguish. My child is missing, and I don’t know where to begin. I’ve turned to friends, family, school, neighbors, yet no one knows where my baby is. This ache in my heart is unbearable, and the uncertainty feels like a storm raging inside me.

Lord, I am terrified. I am afraid for my child’s safety, their innocence, and their well-being. I can’t stop the questions flooding my mind: Have they eaten? Are they thirsty? Are they cold? Are they scared? And the question that haunts me most, are they alive? God, I have no answers, but I know You do.

You are the all-knowing and ever-present God. You see what I cannot, and You know exactly where my child is and what they are going through. Please, Lord, be with them. Comfort them. Surround them with Your love and let them feel Your presence in their darkest moments. I entrust their life into Your hands, Lord, because I know You are the God who sustains.

Please, God, keep my child alive. Protect them from harm, shield their innocence, and preserve their spirit. I plead with You, Lord, don’t let this end in despair. Let their missing information reach someone who knows something, someone who can help bring them home. Stir the hearts of people who see it, Lord. Don’t let them scroll past indifferently; instead, move them to act, to reshare, to spread the message until it reaches the right hands.

God, I beg for Your mercy. Please bring my child back to me safe and sound. Strengthen my faith as I wait, and give me the courage to keep praying and searching. I trust in You, Lord, even in this terrifying uncertainty. Please, God, bring my baby home.

Amen.
