No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 54:17
Going to court may happen to each one of us one way or another. It is the justice system that has been created by the nation to be able to fairly and rightly judge cases that come to them. However, as the world is a corruptible place, it is not always the case.
People who have the resources to battle in court are the ones who end up winning their cases. It is no longer the innocent who gets saved in court. It is rather those who can afford the best lawyers.
A woman who is assaulted by her husband may not get the justice she deserves if she cannot afford a good lawyer. There are people who get away with murder and other heinous crimes because they can afford the best of lawyers. There are others who do not commit as bad a crime as these people but find themselves facing penalties much harsher than they are supposed to because they do not have good representation.
As a Christian going to court, it is therefore paramount that you put your faith in the one and only being who knows all truth and created everything, God. He is still God. He still works. Despite the many mechanisations of the evil people against His children He still sticks up for them.
In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Ephesians 54:14
The Lord tells us to be righteous. Righteousness cannot be achieved on our own because remember our good deeds are as filthy rags in the eyes of the Lord (Isaiah 54:6). Only belief in Christ imparts righteousness into our accounts. Remember Abraham was made righteous not because he was a saint and full of good deeds, but rather through his belief in God.
As a parent, you are naturally drawn to the children who listen to you and are close to you. These are the children who show faith in your words because they believe you know what is best for them and what isn’t.
Our belief in Christ Jesus, his death and resurrection and the fact that it made us reconcile with God once again makes us righteous. A righteous man going to court is therefore already established as the word says. He is far from oppression, fear and terror because it will not come near him.
This is the belief you must have when you have a court date as righteous people of God. It shouldn’t matter what you face and whether there are false witnesses and influenced judges who seek your desrtruction. Your faith and righteousness in God should make you fearless and victorious even before you enter the court.

Prayer for justice in court case
Dear Father,
I pray earnestly for justice in this situation. Let fairness win, and let those who are in the wrong be brought to book. Let offenders be found guilty, and let the innocent walk free. Let the afflicted find the justice they seek, and let the offended find solace. Reveal all secrets and let justice win. Bring forth the truth, and ensure that everyone receives what they deserve. Let Your judgment stand firm at the end of this matter.
Amen.
Courts these days can be corruptible as mentioned earlier. They mostly favor those who have the money to pay for their justice. It doesn’t matter so much how right you think you are. You can lose your case on a technicality. It doesn’t matter if everyone can see that you are the one who has been offended, you can still lose your case.
This is why you need the grace and mercy of God. God’s grace is upon His children and He will not watch them disgraced. Stay righteous for God and He will deliver you through it all. He will be your guide and your protection. He will be your strength and salvation. God is the ultimate judge and what He says is what will be. Do not worry if you are threatened with injustice. Have faith in God and He will see you to victory.
And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
