John 14:27 Meaning
As the Prince of Peace departed from the earth after His resurrection, He left His disciples with these words of encouragement. Remember, they had been in hiding for some time, filled with fear after the death of their Savior and protector.
The time He spent with them after His resurrection must have been the happiest they had known, like a taste of heaven itself. At that moment, they knew beyond a doubt that there was indeed life after death.
Jesus promised them His peace, a peace that would strengthen them to endure, holding fast to their faith until they would see Him again in heaven.
In Jesus, you will find true peace. No matter what you are going through in life, always remember that Jesus left us with peace. He didn’t leave you with the worries of this world. Therefore, you should not let your heart be troubled or be afraid. Instead, rejoice and be glad, for you have Jesus, and in Him, you find the peace that surpasses all understanding.
Prayer
Thank you, dear Lord, for the peace You have given me. I pray that You help me always remember that in You, there is peace, not fear or worry. Strengthen my heart to trust in Your presence and promises, knowing that You are always with me. Amen.
