Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
Colossians 3:5
The spirit is in constant battle with the flesh. Whether or not one overcomes the other depends on how we live our lives. As Christians, we have been made whole and alive by the spirit of Christ through the Holy Spirit. That means that our spirits have be come one with the spirit of God thereby replacing our spirit that died through the sins of Adam and Eve.
Despite this triumph over sin, there is still a constant battle between your flesh which inhabits the earth and the spirit of God. If you want to overcome the flesh and live in a way that pleases the Lord, you must replace fleshy things with spiritual things. You must live in the spirit and not live in the flesh.
By living in the spirit, you must be constantly in contact with the word of God, live according to His will and commands, replace immoral acts with godly things and set yourself apart from the way of the world.
By living in the flesh, we open the door to demonic forces and spirits that try to take the place of God in our lives. They try to control our lives, keep us in bondage thereby keeping us from fulfilling the purpose for which the Lord created us in the first place.
But each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death
James 1:14-15
Pornography is one of the many tools the devil uses to keep us in bondage. Through what the eye sees, the mind meditates on, the heart desires which then dictates into actions.
Exposing yourself to pornography corrupts your mind into thinking the world can offer you what you see. It arouses forces in your body that must be satisfied one way or the other. It gives you a brief and fleeting sense of pleasure which has caused many to wander into trouble.
When the brain is fixated on or corrupted by constant pornography, the body becomes a slave to its appeal and causes you to be dormant and subject to impure thoughts. God created sex to be sacred between a man and his wife.
The devil has weaponised it and is using it to torment the children of God into bondage and disgraceful acts that end up destroying their lives. Love is of God. God is the good shepherd because He maintains His loving relationship with His flock and makes sure they do not stray away or those in the fray are not captured by the wolf.
Lust on the other hand does not seek permanent relationships. It seeks to temporarily satisfy and then move on to the next thing. Pornography opens the door for demonic entities to enter your life and you must pray against it.
In this post, we will take a look at pornography prayer points with scriptures to help you break free from the chains of pornography addiction.
Pornography prayer points with scriptures
Prayer against provocation
I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman. Job 31:1
Dear Lord,
Please help me in this area of my life. Just as Job made a covenant with his eyes, I pray that You avert my eyes from anything I should not see. Shield my eyes from all that is provocative or harmful. Let no one or nothing seek to harm or distract me. Help me to control what I look at and to keep my focus on the Spirit. Strengthen me to subdue the desires of the flesh and keep me from being drawn to provocative imagery. Make my will strong, Lord, and lead me to build myself up only in Your Spirit.
Amen.
Prayer against temptation
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. Ephesians 6:10-11
Dear Lord,
Please save me from all temptations. You know my weaknesses in this area. I pray that You help me stay strong and steadfast in my faith. Do not allow me to be swayed by any demonic entity, and let no lustful intrusions enter my mind or space. Help me to stay pure for You, Lord, and let Your word be my strength and shield. Be my rock against temptation and my fortress against those who seek my destruction. Renew my strength daily in You, Lord, so I may put on the full armor of God and stand firm against the devil’s schemes.
Amen.
Prayer against demonic lust
Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22
Heavenly Father,
I ask that You destroy all demonic lust from my heart and fill me with Your Spirit. Help me to flee from evil desires and instead, let me pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with a pure heart. Burn away all lustful desires and strengthen me to resist any urges to watch pornography. Let my zeal for You surpass any temptation. Let my love be for Your Word and ignite a passion within me that drives away all lustful desires. Replace the lust in my heart, dear Lord, with a deep and abiding love for You, taking away all distractions that lead me astray. Fill my life with Your light, and guide me to make the right choices always.
Amen.
Prayer for strength
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. Romans 8:13
Dear Lord in Heaven,
I come to You today asking for the strength to overcome my pornography addiction. Father, even when I promise myself that I won’t do it again, I find myself falling back into it just moments later. I desperately need Your strength, dear God, because I cannot do this on my own. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit and empower me to resist the urge to watch pornography. I don’t want to live according to my flesh, nor do I want to give in to my lustful desires. With Your Spirit, help me to put to death the desires of the flesh. Thank you, dear God, for the divine strength that comes only from You.
Amen.
Prayer for self control
I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. 1 Corinthians 9:27
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105
Dear Lord,
I pray for self-control in the face of temptation. Help me to discipline my body and be able to train my body to do things that bring honour to your Holy name. When evil urges arise, help me to quash them. When evil voices come, grant me the strength to ignore them. Let Your Word be my strength and my light, guiding me through darkness. Lead me with Your grace, and when my strength fails, deliver me. When there seems to be no way to run, be my refuge. When I feel I’m about to fall, be my rock. Keep me rooted in You, and help me hold firm to Your promises, that this demonic force may not destroy me.
Amen.
Prayer for dominion
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Heavenly Father,
Let Your Spirit take dominion over my life. Transform my weakness into strength. Let your Spirit fill me, so that my spirit can overcome my flesh. Banish all carnality from my heart and mind. I take control over this addiction. Destroy every lustful thought that may arise. Fill the spaces of my life once occupied by carnality with Your spirituality. Let Your power fill me, and bless me with Your might. Take full control of my life, and let my spirit be strengthened each day as I am transformed into Your image. Subdue the lustful spirit within me, and lead me into the freedom that comes from Your Spirit.
Amen.

Please deliver me from any demon that seeks to take hold of my heart. Place Your holy hand upon me and cast out any lustful spirit that resides within me. Cover my eyes from all that is impure, and let me not find pleasure in the company of harlots. Cleanse me with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your fire run through me, destroying all evil thoughts and killing any demonic manipulations. Cast out this pornographic demon from my life, Lord, and let my life reflect Your divine touch. Help me to draw near to You always, as I seek the freedom that only You can provide.

Prayer of repentance
Therefore this is what the Lord says: “If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if you utter worthy, not worthless, words, you will be my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them. Jeremiah 15:19
Dear Father,
Please help me to break free from this habit that has held me captive. Grant me a change of mind and a change of heart. Your Word promises that if I repent, You will restore me. So I confess my sins, God. I am a sinner and I've given in to my lustful desires and taken on the habit of watching pornography. Please help me to let go of this habit. Transform my actions and obsessions. Let my passion be for Your Word and let Your favor fall upon me. Help me to draw near to You and remove my old ways from my life. Turn me back from destruction and cause me to walk in Your light. Illuminate the darkness in my heart, and let me live a life that is worthy of Your praise, so that I may serve You faithfully.
Amen.
Pornography has ruined lots of lives. As mentioned earlier the devil will look for things you are already attracted to and use those to ruin you. Once you open a door to him in your life, he will forever dwell on that to destroy you. You must keep all doors closed to demons. Never let your guard down but put on the full armor of God. Let His word dwell in your heart. Let Him be a lamp unto your feet so you do not walk in darkness. Let Him order your steps away from destruction. Do not keep company with people who take you into pornography and prostitutes.
It is easy to lie to yourself that you will stop through your own might. How many times have you told yourself you won’t do it anymore? This means it is only the power of God that can help you kick this habit. It is only by replacing what is of the devil with what is of God that you will become victorious in this area.
For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world
