Verse – James 5:14-15

Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.

Devotional

Have you ever asked yourself how people are healed in spirit? The Scripture calls for the elders of the church to lay hands on the sick and anoint their heads with oil. However, today, there are those who take these elements mentioned in the Bible and try to sell them to the children of God.

Some bottle oils, package them, and market them to Christians, claiming the oils have been sanctified and hold the power to heal. Others imply that God’s healing is exclusive to them, that only by coming into contact with them can one receive the healing of God. Still, others sell healing in the form of water, books, or other objects.

But the verse teaches us that it is not these things that heal, it is your faith. When Christ performed miracles, it was in the lives of those who showed great faith. The woman with the issue of blood believed with all her heart that Christ didn’t even need to see her for her to be healed; a mere touch of His cloak was enough. And it was her faith that made her whole.

Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. That means the key to receiving your miracle remains unchanged—you must have faith. It doesn’t matter how others perceive you or how discouraged you feel about your situation.

As long as you have faith that Christ will fix it, it will be done. Just accept it and believe in your heart that it is already accomplished. There’s no need for extraordinary acts or rituals. Simply present your situation to Him, trust Him completely, and thank Him, knowing that He has already worked on your behalf.
