Verse – Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Thoughts
Are you in the habit of putting God first? Is He your reference point for every decision? If He isn’t, consider making Him your priority. Throughout the Bible, God continually emphasizes the importance of placing Him at the center of our lives. He asks for the first fruits of their harvests and the firstborn of their flocks.
This is because God should always be put first and He cannot accept second place. This is why God accepted Abel’s offering. He gave the firstborn of his flock, while Cain’s sacrifice was rejected because it came from what was left over.
As a child of God, aim to give Him your best, not what remains. Begin each day with Him. When you tithe, give from the first 10% of your income, not from what’s left over, as He cannot accept anything less than first place. When you put God first, every other aspect of your life begins to fall into place.
