Therefore tell the people: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the LORD Almighty.
Thoughts
The patience of God never runs out. Like the prodigal son, it doesn’t matter how long you have been away from the Lord, He is always ready to take you back and add you to the fold. The sheep that is in the fray is the one who is likely to be lost. The good shepherd, however, will leave the other flock and come look for you.
This verse tells you that God will come to you if you return to Him. It doesn’t matter what you feel you have done or how far away you wander from Him. He is always ready to welcome you back to Him.
When you are travelling to a desired destination and you realise you have been travelling for a while on the wrong road, you need to turn back right away before you go any further on the wrong road. This ensures that you get back as soon as possible unto the right road.
You must therefore turn to God immediately after you realise your mistakes because God will take you back. Going forward on the wrong road will mean you will get lost even more into the abyss. The danger with not turning back is that you might die in your sin which will make it too late for you. So turn back to your maker before it’s too late.(Ecclesiastes 12:1)

Dear Lord,
Please help me to see the error of my ways. You have called me to return to You, and I long to come back. Let me not wander down the wrong road anymore. Help me accept my faults and change my heart. Turn me away from sin and cleanse me of all shame. Lead me out of darkness, and draw me closer to Your love. Strengthen my belief in You, Lord, and let Your favor and grace be with me always.
