Thoughts

As a Christian, the number one thing you hear is that God came to dwell among us on earth in the form of a human being. Surely, you have given this some thought and imagined how this could have happened. What did he look like? Was he different from other human beings? Did he have any special powers?

Well according to this Bible verse, God’s Word became flesh. God’s Word, as revealed in the Bible has tremendous power. The Word of God is responsible for a lot of things. It has created, it has destroyed, it has healed, it has killed, it has raised the dead, it has admonished, it has promised, it has cursed and it has blessed.

Now, imagine that Word becoming flesh. It means this person would have the same power and ability as God.

The Word was spoken into the womb of a virgin. It went through the journey a normal human baby goes through, growing and developing and then it was eventually born into flesh to walk among us.

As flesh, Jesus did all the things God’s Word did in the Bible. He healed, he promised, he raised the dead, he cursed, he blessed, he admonished, he destroyed, and he killed. He killed the flesh and raised the Holy Spirit for us. He defeated sin by paying its full wages and gave us eternal life. He truly was the Word of God made flesh.
