Verse – Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

The creation of the world has a theme of double in most things. Whilst many people see these things as opposing each other, they are rather a deliberate design from God to keep things in a delicate balance of support with each other.
Man wasn’t made alone but woman was made for him as a helper. Male and female is what they later became. Darkness was without form and void so day and night was created to hold the balance. The sea and the land was made. Air and solid matter was also made. All these creations were made to balance each other as well as sustain each other.
In the same way, one should not desire to walk alone. In the journey of life, it is always important to have a mate or a partner who can lift you up in case you fall. When going on a hike, it is important have with you a friend or a trusted person who can help you be strong in your weak times and vice versa.
God is a great partner. He doesn’t dissapont or neglect you and He is faithful even if you are faithless. His faithfulness does not depend on whether you are good to Him or not. He is faithful because He loves you.
Take a look at your life and see if the people you call partners and friends are faithful no matter what. Will they be there for you in your weak times? Will they hear your cry when you call for them? Are they worthy to be called your helper?

For Your Word reminds me that two are better than one. In my weakness, let me find strength in companionship. Be my rock in stormy times, my fortress when enemies pursue me. Help me choose good partners to walk alongside me, and let me not wander through life alone. Grant me favour, and surround me with those who uplift me, so that I may not face this life in solitude.
