Romans 10:13 Devotional – Salvation for All

Date:

Romans 10:13

For, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'

Devotional

In this powerful verse, the Apostle Paul continues his message on the universality of salvation. His emphasis here is that everyone, regardless of race, background, gender, or status, is eligible for the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ. This declaration tears down the historical belief that salvation was exclusively for the Jews. Paul boldly affirms that Gentiles are equally invited to partake in the gift of eternal life.

The word “everyone” is inclusive and unambiguous. It highlights the impartiality of God’s grace. Whether one is from a noble lineage or a forgotten village, rich or poor, male or female, salvation is available to all who genuinely call on the name of the Lord.

But what does it truly mean to call on the name of the Lord? It’s far more than simply saying His name or repeating a phrase. It involves recognising Jesus as divine, the Christ, the Son of God and accepting Him as the fulfilment of God’s promise of redemption. Calling on Him requires faith, humility, and a surrendering of self. It means trusting that salvation comes not by human effort, but by grace through faith in Christ alone.

Salvation, in its truest sense, means rescue from the wrath of God, from the penalty of sin, and from eternal separation from our Creator. It also means inclusion: being counted among the righteous, adopted into God’s family, and given a new identity in Christ. What a precious and powerful truth!

Declaration

I will call on the name of the Lord and be saved. I will trust in His promise, knowing that He is faithful to save all who come to Him.

Prayer

Dear Lord,
Thank you for opening a way for me to be saved. Thank you that through Christ, I am not left out, but am included in the number of those destined for eternal life.

I am deeply grateful that your invitation reaches beyond barriers and extends even to me. I hold on firmly to your promise, not because I deserve it, but because your mercy is great and your grace is abundant.

Help me to never take this privilege for granted. Strengthen my faith, that I may continue to call on your name, not only in times of need but every day, acknowledging you as Lord of my life.

I receive your salvation with gratitude and joy, and I rest in the assurance that I belong to you.
Amen.
