Verse – Isaiah 9:6
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Thoughts
The birth of Christ marked a critical milestone in the physical and spiritual lives of man. Since the garden of Eden where the death of man’s spirit occurred, this was the first mention of hope of rekindling that spirit.
When Adam and Eve were told that they would die if they ate from the tree of death (knowledge of good and evil) God wasn’t talking about physical death. He was talking about spiritual death.
So every man that was born to Adam and Eve had a physical life but were spiritually dead. They had a soul and a body but their spirits were dead on arrival.
The arrival of Jesus on earth was good news for man because he was going to make it possible to be born again. Not born again physically because that had already happened but born again of a spirit.
Man then became complete again. Man became body, soul and the Holy Spirit. The reason why they were driven from the garden of Eden was because if they had again eaten from the tree of life that they were allowed to eat, they would have forever lived in a fallen state. Because God did not want this to happen, he drove them out.
Him then sending Christ down meant man had a chance to be redeemed. Man was yet again going to have the spirit of God in him. And that meant that God was going to impart His righteousness in the spirit of any man who accepted Christ. No longer dead in spirit, but born again of the Holy Ghost.

Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for sending your Son for me. Thank you for never giving up on me and for the love you continually show me. Thank you that I am born again, renewed by your grace. Thank you for this precious sacrifice on my behalf. Renew my strength each day and let me proclaim your name to the nations. Let others see your goodness through me, so that they, too, may come to you and be saved in Jesus' name.
Amen.
