Dreams are non-physical manifestations of the subconscious. Many people believe that dreams are warnings of things to come or a revelation of things that are hidden in the physical.
There are dreams that reveal scary happenings and are sometimes referred to as nightmares. Other dreams reveal pleasant things and situations that we welcome. Many people also believe that what we often think about or fixate on is what we eventually take into our dreams. Whatever be the case, dreams are a consequence of God’s creation.
There are instances in the Bible where He foretold what was to come through dreams. Pharoah’s dreams were used by God to facilitate and continue God’s promises to Abraham by getting Joseph out of prison into the governorship of Egypt (Genesis 41).
He used it on Nebuchadnezzar to get Daniel to reveal the future and show him the power of the one true God (Daniel 2). He used dreams to reveal the infant Christ conceived of the Holy Spirit to Joseph (Matthew 1:18-25).
As a Christian, you should therefore know that dreams can be a communication tool between God and his children. That means we must listen for the voice of God when we dream.
Does the devil also work with dreams though?
The Bible doesn’t in any instance speak about the devil using dreams to hurt people. However, if the belief that dreams are stemmed from what you think of or fixate on is true, then yes, the devil will definitely influence your thoughts if you give him the chance.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
John 10:10
Christ is knocking on the door of your heart but Satan is also hanging around. Whoever you open the door to is the one who will come into your heart. Whoever enters your heart will also enter your thoughts and these will be the thoughts you fixate on and eventually dream about.
Guard your heart against bed thoughts. Do not listen to friends who want to poison your mind or your life because what you allow yourself to believe in is what will dominate your mind and eventually influence your dreams and then your actions. You will then begin to see things that are not there. You will begin to focus on the wrong things and eventually begin to dream of them.
But no matter what you think or dream of, the Bible says in Luke 10:19 that Christ has given us authority. Authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. Snakes and scorpions here do not refer to literal snakes and scorpions but rather the evil and demonic spirits or anything that may torment you in life.
God has put the name of Jesus above all names and has commanded them to leave at the mention of this name. It is during the night that evil forces in the sky and on the earth rise against you. You must therefore only let thoughts of Christ and purity into your heart. For where there is Christ, evil cannot persist.

Dear Lord,
I thank you for the life of my family and your favour upon them. I come to you in prayer for my children. After the troubling dream I had about them, I can't sleep but pray. I know that this is not Your plan for them. I stand against any force that would harm my children. Your word says in Jeremiah 29:11 that your plans for us are to make us prosper and not to harm us. I pray that your Will be done in my children's lives. Wherever they are, I speak divine protection over them. Be their constant companion and their protector. Let any evil scheme against their future be defeated, and let their purpose in life come to fullness, according to Your will.

Dear Lord,
Thank You for my husband's life. Thank You for his work and the strength You give him each day. Thank You that he loves us and he is devoted to this family. I don’t fully understand why I had this dream about him,
But if it is a warning, I ask You to protect him from any harm ahead.
If there is a trap in his path, please divert him from it. If danger lies in wait, please shield him from it. If there is a grave marked for him please save him from it. If there is any hidden pitfall, help him to skip it.
I cast every evil plot against him into the fire. I dismantle any scheme that seeks to harm him. I drown any dark spirits that may be pursuing him. I trample upon any evil that would threaten our family. Cause his strength to be renewed each day. Keep his mind free from any harmful distractions.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this job You’ve blessed me with. It was not easy to obtain, but You came through for me.
I recently had a bad dream concerning this job, and I stand against anything that is working to mess up my job. I pray that it will not come to pass. Help me to keep my composure at work.
Grant me calmness in all situations, and let nothing provoke me to lose my temper. Keep me from reacting in anger. Send away any forces of darkness that would seek to disrupt my peace back to the hell they came from. Let me not do anything that would cause me to lose my job.
Let my achievements be great. Let everything I touch be marked by excellence. Let me rise to the top and let me never face disgrace at work.

Dear Lord in Heaven,
Thank You for my life, for my health, and for the strength within me. Tonight, I pray for even more strength. Let this dream of poor health not come to pass. Guide me whenever I stray into risky situations, and cover me with Your divine grace.
Let Your healing power be my friend; and let Your holy health wash over me. I block any disease that may lie ahead, and I cast out any cancers that await me. I destroy any terminal illnesses from my life and my family. I burn away any generational curses in my family. I bind all heart diseases, hypertension, or diabetes from our lineage.
I speak a future filled with health, strength, and long life, in the name of Jesus.

Dear Lord,
I reject this dream. I reject any spirit of poverty over my family. I bind any plans that would place me at the bottom, and I reject all disasters or fires in my business. I bind every hidden force working against my business, and I cast out all who plot evil against me.
I speak blessings over my finances. Let the seeds I sow grow into strong, thriving trees that bear fruit endlessly. Let my investments be secure in You. I reject all plans of bankruptcy and failure, and I stamp out any demonic interference in my financial life.
I declare divine abundance and continual progress over my life.

Heavenly Father,
Tonight, I pray with the authority given to me by Christ Jesus. I declare that I will not die but live, in Jesus’ name. No grave shall hold me, for I will live to fulfill my calling. I will grow in strength and stature, and my life will stand as a testimony.
No death shall befall me, and no destruction shall hinder me. Let those who plot evil suffer by their own designs, and let those who harbor hate fall in their own bitterness. I cast out any spirit of death and destroy all demonic devices set against me.

Dreams to a Christian must not bring fear into your heart but rather strength. Take dreams as a way God communicates with you and tell you what to do. Take them as God wanting you to use His authority to cast out evil spirits that torment your life. You should not be dormant as a Christian. The position you hold is of great envy.
Imagine being called the son or daughter of the Most High God. There are inheritances that are in your name that the devil would not want you to get your hands on. This is why he will try every possible way to get fear into your heart. Once he strikes fear in your heart through his agents on earth, the bad dreams will start.
God does not give His children nightmares but rather admonishments and encouragements. If you are awakened in the night by a bad dream, know that God wants you to be victorious and has given you authority ove any evils and principalities. Use that power to destroy them.
But there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries. He has shown King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen in days to come. Your dream and the visions that passed through your mind as you were lying in bed are these:
